Mark the 100th birthday of the 19th Amendment by learning about two of the women who were intrustmental to its passing — and their connections to Swarthmore. Votes for Women was a campaign started by a College founder, Lucretia Mott, and finished in victory by Suffrage Leader Alice Paul ’05. We’ll hear about the nonviolent resistance waged out on the streets that had Paul under the eye of President Woodrow Wilson for seven years. Presented by Jamie Stiehm ’82, a Washington columnist and speaker on American history, and moderated by Lucy Lang ’03.
